Turkey in tomato sauce

HEALTHIER RECIPES
Ingredients for 4 people
  • 400g turkey breast
  • Salt
  • 45g olive oil
  • 500g crushed tomatoes (fresh or canned)
  • Ground black pepper
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 150g onion
  • Red bell pepper
Preparation

1. The first thing we're going to do to prepare this turkey in tomato sauce is cut the 400g of turkey breast into bite-sized pieces. Once the breast is cut, we'll add salt and freshly ground black pepper.

2. Now, we're going to finely chop 1 clove of garlic and 150g of onion.

3. Next, we'll put a saucepan over high heat with 20g of olive oil. When the oil is very hot, we'll add the chopped turkey breast and brown it for a couple of minutes so that it's well sealed on all sides. Then, we'll remove the breast to a plate and set it aside.

4. In the same saucepan where we browned the turkey, we'll add 25g of olive oil and set the saucepan over medium heat. We'll add the garlic, sauté it for 1 minute, and then add the onion and a pinch of salt. We'll let the onion cook for about 7 minutes. 5. Next, add 500g of crushed tomatoes, a pinch of salt, and freshly ground black pepper. Mix well and let it cook over medium-low heat, covered, for 15 minutes.

6. After these last 5 minutes, the turkey in tomato sauce is ready to serve.
